We are Britain's most fashion conscious beauty and health retailer and are committed to bringing innovation and the latest styles and trends to every high street in the UK and Southern Ireland at fantastic prices. We were the first high street beauty and health retailer to support London Fashion Week and are committed to bringing new and beautiful brands to our customers exclusively and faster than our competition, securing exclusives ahead of any other UK retailer. 2007 saw a £46m beauty investment programme which ensured 440 stores received a beauty face lift, with the remainder receiving a make-over this year. We have also launched pink fascia stores offering even more choice in beauty and fragrance, a programme of growth will see stores in every major city turning pink by the end of 2008.

Superdrug currently has 913 stores including five stores in Southern Ireland and employs 16,000 colleagues. Every store has a fragrance offer and 226 stores have pharmacies with pharmacy consulting rooms.

We are a challenging brand on behalf of our customers. After a ten month campaign lobbying the UK Government to slash the VAT on condoms we celebrated a successful outcome to this campaign in the 2006 Budget when the Chancellor slashed the VAT on condoms from 17.5 per cent to five per cent. Our latest campaign is to reduce the VAT on kids' sun care products and a lobbying campaign to get the Government to reclassify sun cream as an essential health item rather than a luxury beauty item is currently underway.

Being a responsible retailer is core to our activities and in 2006 we launched a long term partnership with the Prince's Trust to support young people with potential through a programme of fund-raising, employee involvement and creating job opportunities. Since 2006 we have been working to raise fund and awareness to support charities which work on skin cancer campaigns. 2008 sees the launch of the SHUN BURN campaign in partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust.

Since 2006 we have raised more than £750,000 for our charity partners. A key element to our brand's success is ensuring that our team is trained to give customers the service and quality they deserve. Through our retail academy team members are given the skills, confidence and knowledge to offer customers the best beauty and health advice on the high street. We have also signed up to the Government's skills pledge to ensure that all young people who work for Superdrug receive the necessary basic vocational and educational skills through a modern apprenticeship scheme.
