FREE CRAFT WORKSHOPS AND FACE PAINTING 29TH & 30TH MAY
Join us to celebrate this year’s Reading Children’s Festival and the reopening of Reading Abbey, with free mask-making workshops with Jelly from 11am to 3pm on 29th and 30th May, where we'll also have a face painter on hand to create animal-themed designs.
During the workshops Jelly will be drawing inspiration from the song ‘Sumer is Icumen in’ – the earliest manuscript of which was discovered at Reading Abbey, to create deer masks. Children will be able to use a variety of materials to create their own interpretation of this much-loved woodland animal.
Little ones can then join Jelly, along with their deer masks, at the Reading Abbey procession on 16th June.
