11am – 6pm, Saturday 20th July 2019
Join the team from Berkshire Mela, here at Broad St. Mall, to track down Reading’s most talented performers to take to the stage at Palmer Park on 10th August.
They’re on the lookout for Reading’s best musicians, magicians, comedians and dancers to entertain the crowds, so if you’re oozing star quality and fancy stepping up to the mic or strutting your stuff on our stage for the judges, why not come and give it your best shot? If you’re interested in auditioning you can pre-register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or just turn up on the day!
We’ll also be enjoying a day of live music and dance with Munde Punjab De and singing duo, Adil Hashmi & Sib - with more to be announced. There will be FREE balloons, sweets, caricatures and henna art and the chance to try some Mela inspired food – all in Central Square.
The Mela itself is the first of its kind at Palmer Park. It’s planned to be an exciting, colourful summer outdoor event with an emphasis on cultural and artistic diversity. It will consist of music and food from around the world, and also provide an opportunity for both voluntary and statutory agencies to promote and raise awareness of the work they do within the County of Berkshire.
Six lucky people will be chosen from the Talent Quest ‘auditions’ to perform on stage at the main Mela event with one lucky winner getting the chance to go on stage with Arjun who headlining the event.
Why not come down to Broad St. Mall on 20th July to get a taste of what’s to come?
